WHO CAN USE AAT?

AAT & Children

Children benefit the most from animal-assisted therapy, especially kids with physical or mental disabilities like:

  • Autism

  • Cerebral palsy

AAT & College Students

AAT can be used in colleges to help reduce the psychological stress that students could be facing (like anxiety or depression) during study week, which is a time where these issues are more prevalent.

Therapy animals, especially dogs are proven to be substantial in reducing the stress, anxiety or any other mental complexities in the college environment (Thelwell, 2019)

At UNLV, they offer dog therapy events that are available during study week for students to help ease their minds and give themselves a mental break from all the stress that college can bring.
